New insights into pressure exerted on marine ecosystems in the Mediterranean are available from a study prepared by the Regional Marine Pollution Emergency Response Centre for the Mediterranean (REMPEC).
The study focuses on four key aspects of the pollution derived from maritime traffic and from Oil&Gas exploration and production:
pollution from oil and chemicals, marine litter, air pollution, non-indigenous species and underwater noise.
Check the REMPEC web-site for more key findings of the study and next steps.
